p>The Speed of Time is a sundial and recepticle for discarded watches. Through the hash marks - made like someone marking time - the accummulation of time pieces can be seen. Built to be a stylus, the piece also show the time of day by the location of its shadow.

Constructed in 2002, as part of a symposium to create art for the town park in Beaufort Luxembourg, the Speed of Time improved with time and a rusty patina.

The steel was roughened by running road equipment over it, as crews worked on a new school for the town.
